District Staff
I am pleased to announce the
2009 APICS Northeast District Staff and commend them in advance for
their commitment to serve the volunteer leadership and chapters of the
APICS Northeast District.
Assistant District Manager/Communications Liaison:

Responsibilities:
· Provides strategic and tactical support/inputs to the District Manager
· Communicates information as required to the appropriate distribution
lists
· Provides updates to the webmaster of material that should be posted to
the District website
· Follows up with all owners of items on the District “Action List” to
drive timely deliverables
Student, Early Professional, and Academic Liaisons:

Responsibilities:
· Be the District resources for chapters looking for best practices and
methods to attract and retain academics, early professionals, and
students to APICS
· Plan, organize, and execute a student case competition in partnership
with sponsoring chapter(s)
· Facilitate District-wide teleconferences (as per the needs of the
District chapters) to discuss student, early professional, and academic
related issues at the chapter level ; developing and utilizing external
subject matter experts where possible
Note: Due to the level of importance of this critical focus area, this
has been staffed with a team from across the District to ensure the
highest level of commitment and responsiveness to the chapter volunteer
leadership.
Training and Body of Knowledge Liaison:

Responsibilities:
· Provides information relative to best practices utilized for APICS
related training and instructors
· Communicates at the District Level any updates relative to the
training materials as maintained by the Association
· Coordinates with the chapters to hold one or more District-level
train-the-trainer sessions
· Facilitates District-wide teleconferences (as per the needs of the
District chapters) to discuss training and instructor related issues at
the chapter level, developing and utilizing external subject matter
experts where possible.

Responsibilities:
· Determine specific hotels appropriate for planned District meetings
utilizing the Association process. (The geographic locations will
continue to be determined by the chapter presidents. The dates of the
meetings are determined by the District Staff.)
· Prepare the agenda for publication to the membership
· Contact speakers and be their “go-to” person
· Coordinate chapter participation in hosting hospitality
· Develop email communications reminding the chapters of upcoming
District Meetings
· Provide information for attendees/guests at each District Meeting to
acquaint them with the offerings of the hotel and near-by attractions.
District Administrator and Treasurer:

Responsibilities:
· Provide oversight with regard to the financial activities relative to
the District budget
· Take minutes of all District Staff meetings, Presidents' Meetings, and
conference calls
· Capture "action items" during the District Meetings
· Ensure that all Action Items are documented, with an owner and due
date; coordinates with Communications Liaison to ensure updated status
is maintained
CMS/CBAR Program Liaison:

Responsibilities:
· Administers the CMS and CBAR program through-out the year; encourages
chapters to submit their worksheets no less than quarterly, for review
· Encourages 100% chapter participation in CMS and CBAR
· Is a resource for questions regarding the CMS/CBAR program
· Communicates reminders (via the Communication Liaison) to each
chapters’ CMS/CBAR champion of the items that should be available for
review during the upcoming quarter
· Provides end-of-year final review information as required to District
Manager and headquarters.
Chapter Presidents’ Liaison:

Responsibilities:
· Be the facilitator for Presidents’ meetings scheduled during District
Meetings
· Schedule and facilitate District-wide teleconference calls for the
Presidents as requested or necessitated
· Be the contact person to gather requested feedback from the District
presidents
· Develop the Presidents’ Meeting agenda, as per the requests of the
Chapter Presidents.
Staff Director-at-Large:

Responsibilities:
· Responsible for ad hoc
project administration
· Provide assistance with special projects
Requirements for Northeast District Staff
· Recognize that the purpose of the District Staff is to serve the
chapter volunteer leadership, not govern the chapters
· Must commit to the APICS code of ethics
· Members of the District Staff will have served or be currently serving
as a member of a chapter-level board of directors
· District Staff should be able to attend most, if not all, of the
District Meetings during the course of 2009
The term for District Staff members is one year, ending on December
31st.
